On a brilliant Saturday morning in late July 2003 I set off for the Worthington Farmers Market, five cases of jam and several dozen biscotti loaded in my car, butterflies flitting in my stomach, and a dream in my heart that I could provide a second income for our family while remaining at home with our three young children. I pitched my card table and umbrella, unloaded my goods, and prayed to God I would make enough to at least cover my costs.
It worked. Not only did it allow me to work from home and watch our kids grow up, but it allowed my husband Mark to quit his job and do so as well. We started with four flavors that fateful day. Since then we have created more than 180. Our biscotti line, which I created just in case the whole jam thing didn’t work out, has taken on a life of its own. Here we are, twenty years later, going strong. We still produce from home, still stir up jam and biscotti in small batches, but have expanded our business to include numerous farmers markets and various retail outlets in the area.
The business is ever evolving, but we are thankful for the success we’ve achieved over the years, and appreciative for the support we have received from our customers.
